Knox Announces Partnership with Gateway Church

We believe Kingdom partnerships are not only needed, but necessary for a Gospel-centered movement in our time. This is why Knox is reversing the flow of the typical church-seminary ecosystem with a commitment to be a seminary that’s “IN, WITH, and FOR the church.” Our vision isn’t just an ideal, but a practical solution that meets the growing needs of local ministries by supporting their calling to their communities.

Knox Seminary recently announced an integrative partnership with Gateway Church in Findlay, OH to provide academic support and resources to laypeople and emerging leaders in a local ministry context. Through this multi-phase partnership, Knox will provide online remote learning with an eye towards occasional in-person classroom instruction for academic credit and degree-seeking students of Scripture and theology. Congregation members are able to take individual classes in New Testament, Old Testament, apologetics, church history, original languages like Greek and Hebrew. Members and church leaders can also work towards a fully-accredited Certificate in Christian Ministry, or pursue a Master of Arts or Master of Divinity degree, all without needing to leave their community at Gateway Church.

“We have a vision as a church to raise up the next generation of pastors and ministry leaders,” Josh Hanson, Senior Pastor of Gateway Church and Knox Alumnus (DMin '20), said in his opening remarks on a recent podcast featuring Scott Manor, President of Knox Seminary. “When we know our faith better,” Pastor Josh said, “it makes the church better.”
