— The Edinburgh Society —
A Reformation moment for South Florida.
A time-bound campaign of leaders who step forward to catalyze the gospel movement in one of the most influential and spiritually complex regions in the country.
Because the moment has been given.
— The Goal —
$250,000
from a circle of leaders, by year’s end.
— The Case —
Movements rarely begin with large institutions.
South Florida is not a small place. The tri-county region is more populous than twenty-three U.S. states, more religiously plural than nearly any city in the country, and home to ministries that shape the wider Church. It is also, by every measure of pastoral need, under-served by serious confessional theological formation. The Edinburgh Society exists for this moment. A small, time-bound circle of leaders steps forward to do what an endowment cannot do quickly enough — fund the formation of pastors, lay leaders, and faculty who will serve this region, the wider South, and the Church beyond. The campaign is not perpetual. It will close. But what it builds will stand.
— What the Campaign Funds —
Four pillars, one regional aim.
Lay Leader Formation in South Florida
Master’s and certificate scholarships for lay leaders, ruling elders, and second-career disciples across the tri-county region — formation that the parish pastor cannot provide alone.
Pastoral Training Grants
Practical leadership development for working pastors in our region: preaching, governance, and the cultural literacy required to minister faithfully in South Florida’s spiritual landscape.
Regional Convocations
Public lectures, pastors’ conferences, and faculty forums hosted at the Seminary — Knox as a confessional Reformed center for the broader South Florida church.
Faculty Capacity
Targeted faculty appointments and visiting lectureships chosen for their fit to the regional moment — scholars whose work serves both the academy and the local church.
