Short courses, certificates, and degrees: which fits you?
A short course is a non-credit online course. A certificate program is credit-bearing study that can apply toward a Knox master’s degree. A degree program is a full academic program that leads to a master’s or doctoral degree.
Knox short courses carry no academic credit and do not apply toward a Knox certificate or master’s degree. They are built for lay leaders who want to grow where they serve. If you are comparing online theology courses, the deciding question is credit: if you need it, start with a certificate or degree program instead.
Knox Theological Seminary is accredited by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS). Short courses are non-credit and are not part of the accredited certificate or degree programs.
Not sure which fits? An admissions advisor can look at where you serve and what you want next, and point you to a certificate, a degree, or a short course. Start with a request for information.
