Programs of Study

Knox Theological Seminary offers four graduate-level theological degrees, three Masters (MDiv, MABTS, MACCS) and one Doctorate (DMin).

Master-Level Programs

MASTER OF DIVINITY

The Master of Divinity is a professional degree program that prepares students for pastoral ministry. We seek to shape whole persons to communicate the gospel and demonstrate its implications in everyday life. Pastors and church leaders must be biblically saturated, theologically discerning, and contextually sensitive Christians; to that end, the curriculum focuses on three major areas: biblical, theological, and practical ministry studies.

MASTER OF ARTS (BIBLICAL and THEOLOGICAL STUDIES)

Residential and Knox Online Program

The Masters of Arts (Biblical and Theological Studies) is an academic degree program designed for persons who intend to pursue further graduate studies in Biblical exegesis and theology or who desire to broaden and deepen their knowledge in these areas. The MABTS is a 60 credit hour program.

Logos E-Track

The online Master of Arts (Biblical and Theological Studies): Logos E-Track is designed to ground students in a responsible exegetical method utilizing advanced Bible software. This specialized track captures the essence of the residential program’s emphases but reorients the training around the Logos interface. The goal of the program is to graduate students who will carry responsible exegetical skills with them into a lifetime of effective ministry.

MASTER OF ARTS (CHRISTIAN and CLASSICAL STUDIES)

The Master of Arts (Christian and Classical Studies) is a 48 credit hour academic degree program designed for persons intending to pursue a role as educator in Christian schools, to pursue further graduate theological studies, or to become conversant on the dialogue between the Bible and the Great Tradition of literature. The coursework provides a solid foundation in the areas of Biblical study and selected great texts of the classical Western tradition.

This program aims to equip you with:

Historical Perspective: drawing on the wisdom of the ages to address the needs of the present.

Philosophical Habit of Mind: distinguishing superficial from effective solutions to the problems we face.

Moral Imagination: not just to see the present, fallen condition of our world but also to see what it can become through the redemptive power of Christ.

Rhetorical Skill: to encourage the faithful to live courageous and sacrificial lives for the Kingdom of God.
