Knox Theological Seminary Announces Leadership Transition
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, 01/15/2014 – The Executive Committee of the Knox Theological Seminary Board of Directors has announced that Sam Lamerson, Ph.D., current Professor of New Testament and Greek, has been appointed as the Interim President of Knox during a time of leadership transition at the Seminary, effective January 10, 2014.
Dr. Lamerson has been at the Seminary since 1989 when Dr. D. James Kennedy founded it under the guidance of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church. He was the first graduate of Knox in 1993, is loved by the Knox community, and is well respected by the faculty, staff, strategic partners, and academia at large. He has served Knox as a student, professor, pastor, and dean of faculty. In answering the call to become Knox Theological Seminary’s Interim President, Dr. Lamerson was humbled and expresses, “This seminary changed my life and I want to be a part of doing that for other students.” Dr. Lamerson is a master teacher with a pastoral heart and is loved by his students. He brings a strong community, missional, residential, and pastoral presence to the Knox leadership that is crucial during an exciting period of growth in the life of the Seminary.
