Welcome to Knox Theological Seminary

Welcome to Knox Theological Seminary. I am personally thankful for your interest in Knox and know that where you choose to attend seminary is one of the most important decisions that you will make. Located in Fort Lauderdale, here you will find a Christian community committed to solid Biblical, theological, and pastoral study, within the Reformed tradition. Knox, however, is home to students from a broad evangelical base. The collaboration that comes from these perspectives will play a key role in how you will do ministry work.

At Knox, you will study under outstanding faculty who believe that training ministers is about training the whole individual. Each faculty member is actively preaching and teaching in area churches and connected to the larger Christian community where we live. They are committed to training great preachers and teachers but also to strengthening the inner life of the Christian leader and preparing that individual for the practical roles that one must fulfill in full-time Christian service.

The year of 2010 was a particularly exciting one for Knox. We saw sister seminaries launch in new and uncultivated countries where the gospel has never so openly gone. Knox Virtual was successfully launched and is providing residential students with more flexible course options and distance students with an opportunity to further their theological education. Our partnership with Logos Bible Software, the largest developer of Bible software in the world, has provided tremendous benefits to students, giving them the right “tools” to help them keep up with the challenges and demands of modern ministry.

Knox offers many opportunities for practical ministry experience. We have become a hub for church planting as Renew South Florida holds offices here at the seminary. Church planting has been dubbed as the single greatest tool for evangelism in America today and with Miami being one of the top five most unchurched cities in America, South Florida is fertile soil for this initiative. Courses in church planting are now being taught and we hope that you will be a part of this growing movement in the church today.

All of these initiatives go back to what motivates us—the Great Commission, and desiring to meet the need for laborers in the harvest, in our back yards, our nation and indeed the world.

We are honored that you are considering Knox Theological Seminary as a place to pursue your theological training. As you are prayerfully considering which seminary to attend, we invite you to come visit us and together we can explore if Knox is the right place for you. This is an exciting time in the history of Knox Seminary and we hope you will be a part of making its future great.

In His humble service,

Dr. Ronald Kovack President,
