Old Testament Track

The Master of Arts (Biblical and Theological Studies): Old Testament Track is an academic degree program designed for persons who intend to pursue further graduate religious studies in Biblical exegesis and theology or who desire to broaden and deepen their knowledge in these areas. Students in this specialization will concentrate on the exegesis of the Old Testament Hebrew text.


ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or the educational equivalent is required.


ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPLETION

The Master of Arts (Biblical and Theological Studies): Old Testament Track requires completion of a total of 60 credit hours and a comprehensive examination. To graduate, a student must earn at least a grade of C- (1.7) in each course, must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale), and must have validation of, or obtain an Evangelism Explosion Teacher/Trainer Certificate.


Upon successful completion, the student is awarded the Master of Arts (Biblical and Theological Studies) degree.


LEARNING OUTCOMES

A graduate of the (MA Biblical and Theological Studies) program at Knox will:

• Have the ability to think theologically.

• Have the ability to exegete the Biblical text employing the selected original language in service to the interpretation of the entire message of Reformed theology to contemporary society.

• Display a Christ–like character that reflects personal and spiritual maturity and evangelistic competence.
