Dr. Robert W. Evans serves as the founding Senior Pastor of Christ Church in Pleasanton, California. As a pastor-theologian, his desire is to return to the biblical theology and priorities that God Himself designed to cultivate spiritual health and holiness in the lives of both individual believers and the local church. As a preacher, his mission is to carefully, patiently, and accurately deliver an informed exposition of God’s Word, in which the sermon seamlessly transitions from an exacting study of the intended meaning of the text to the practical application of its contemporary significance in terms that people can both understand and apply to their lives.

In addition to his pastoral ministry, Dr. Evans also serves as President of Veritas Ministries International— an international teaching, evangelistic, and apologetic ministry—and as Director of the Veritas Institute for the Study of Bioethics and Public Values— which aims to bring an informed and sensitive voice to questions of moral choice from the vantage point of Christian conviction. As an author, academic, and speaker, Dr. Evans regularly writes and speaks on issues that lie at the intersection of medicine, morality, law, ethics, religion, and culture, and he is unusually gifted at both commending and defending the intellectual coherence of the Christian faith, as well as handling difficult questions posed by non-Christian audiences.

When not busy teaching or traveling, Dr. Evans enjoys fly fishing, backpacking, hiking National Park trails, and sports. He and his wife, Kamrin, live with their three children in the San Francisco East Bay.
