PROGRAMS OF STUDY

Knox Theological Seminary offers four graduate-level theological degrees, three Master's (MDiv, MABTS, MACC) and one Doctorate (DMin) (residential only).

Professional Programs

MASTER OF DIVINITY

The Master of Divinity program prepares students for pastoral ministry. We seek to shape whole persons to communicate the gospel and demonstrate its implications in everyday life. Pastors and church leaders must be biblically saturated, theologically discerning, and contextually sensitive Christians; to that end, the curriculum focuses on three major areas: biblical, theological, and practical ministry studies.

DOCTOR OF MINISTRY

The Doctor of Ministry is a professional program for pastors, missionaries, and others actively engaged in ministry-related fields. Admission to the Doctor of Ministry program is limited to men. This admission policy derives from Knox’s commitment to operate according to the Holy Scriptures and the constitution of the Presbyterian Church in America, namely the Westminster Confession of Faith, the Catechisms, and the Book of Church Order.

Courses are normally offered in intensive one-week sessions in January and July. Students receive pre-course assignments that include assigned readings and/or written papers. At the end of the sessions, students receive post-course assignments that may include a written project requiring the students to apply course material.
